eMobility at the IAA

Our highlights at the IAA Transportation trade fair 2022

Discover what eMobility from Mercedes-Benz  Trucks can offer your fleet and your company. Efficient eTrucks for every requirement: From stop-and-go in city centres to long-distance logistics, every vehicle opens up completely new possibilities as part of an integrated solution.

Welcome to the era of profitable electric transport logistics. With the eActros LongHaul, we will set new standards for long-haul battery electric transport. The eActros LongHaul will be our profitable, sustainable and reliably integrated solution with its balanced drive power. Thanks to its new powertrain, the standard eActros  LongHaul will offer a range of up to 500  kilometres without the need for interim charging. Megawatt charging will enable the batteries to be charged from 20 to 80  percent in less than 30 minutes. The eActros  LongHaul is therefore equipped for the majority of foreseeable long-haul transport applications. With the eActros LongHaul as an integrated solution, you can benefit from eConsulting, Mercedes-Benz  Uptime in the repair and maintenance contract, Fleetboard Charge Management, and many other tailor-made services. The eActros LongHaul will be ready for series production from 2024 onwards – but you can already take a look at it at the IAA Transportation trade fair.

With one battery charge, the eActros LongHaul will have a range of around 500 kilometres. For example, the eActros LongHaul will be the first eTruck from Mercedes‑Benz Trucks to enable a profitable deployment on long-haul routes.
The eActros LongHaul allows rapid loading and easy handling. In the future, megawatt charging will enable the batteries to be charged from 20 to 80 percent in well under 30 minutes. With the joint venture between Daimler Trucks, the TRATON GROUP and the Volvo group, we want to play our part in supporting an ever-expanding charging infrastructure. This will make charging mere child’s play.
Benefit from the eActros LongHaul! As part of an integrated solution, you will receive consulting services for optimum vehicle use so that you can optimise the total cost of ownership.

"A new chapter in the direction of e-mobility” - this is how the jury of the Truck Innovation Award 2023 judged the eActros LongHaul. The decisive factors were the innovative overall technological concept with LFP battery technology and a new e-axle, as well as the high speed of development: Customer testing of the eActros LongHaul is expected to begin as early as next year. The jury also highlighted the compact dimensions of the semitrailer tractor. The Truck Innovation Award is presented by the jury of the "International Truck of the Year" award.

The eActros 300 and eActros 400 are more than just trucks. They individually form part of an integrated solution, one which also includes eConsulting and innovative, digital solutions. The trucks offer a range of up to 300 or 400 km – thanks to the highly efficient ePowertrain. Thanks to their greatly reduced noise emissions, they offer their drivers and passers-by a new level of comfort when it comes to inner-city traffic and urban life. As part of an integrated eMobility solution, with the eActros  300 or eActros  400 you also benefit from comprehensive eConsulting, which includes route analysis, incentive management and electro-specific digital services such as Mercedes-Benz  Uptime, charging management, and service contracts.

Turning assistant287.

In order to prevent accidents involving cyclists or pedestrians when turning right, the eActros is equipped as standard with the turning assistant S1R287, which can inform the driver and warn them in the event of danger.

Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS).

The Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System consists of two loudspeakers that play sounds for forward or reverse travel depending on the driving conditions, making the vehicle more audible to passers-by.

Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA5)287, 285.

The Active Brake Assist 5287, 285 works with a combination of radar and camera systems. The system can react to potential hazards and warns the driver acoustically and visually of a potential accident. If the driver fails to react, the system can automatically initiate partial and full braking.

Battery safety concept.

Special crash elements with an aluminium profile can protect the batteries in the event of a side-on crash, while sensors integrated in these can automatically initiate the shutoff of the high-voltage battery.

The eActros 300 and eActros 400 impress with a wide range of safety systems. The fifth-generation285, 287 Active Brake Assist is operating with a combination of radar and a camera system for the first time, and it can independently initiate braking within the system limits, not only at the tail end of traffic jams, but also when approaching pedestrians so that collisions can be prevented. The turning assistant can issue a warning in critical situations when turning right.

With the new eActros 300 model variant as a semitrailer, we are systematically expanding the eActros' range of applications for heavy-duty distribution transport. The new eActros 300 semitrailer is particularly well suited to use in urban environments. The semitrailer is based on the same technology as the eActros 300 and the eActros 400 as a solo vehicle or articulated truck. Like the eActros 300 and eActros 400 models, the new eActros 300 semitrailer has an M cab. Three battery packs, each with 112 kWh3005 installed capacity, enable a range of up to 220 km3013. The powertrain is identical to that of the eActros 300 and therefore also delivers 400 kW peak power and 330 kW continuous power. The vehicle can tow all the usual European semitrailers, taking into account the maximum permissible total towing length. Like the eActros 300 and the eActros 400, the vehicle is offered as an integrated solution including consulting and charging infrastructure solutions. In addition, with the eActros Mercedes‑Benz Trucks is also providing its customers with comprehensive digital services tailored to eTrucks.

In a world in which transport logistics are facing ever more complex challenges, we at Mercedes-Benz  Trucks are now offering comprehensive and tailor-made solutions. With its integrated solutions, Mercedes-Benz  Trucks is supporting its customers in all phases of the electrification of their fleets, and also in all areas of their associated processes. From customer-specific eConsulting and digital services such as Mercedes-Benz  Uptime to financing solutions. A diverse network of different services ensures that our customers can always concentrate on the efficient optimisation of their business. At the IAA, we will provide you an overview of our integrated solutions for eMobility and show you how and where you can integrate them into our vehicles.
